How to
Preheated to oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Prepare a 9×13 baking pan by spraying with oil, or add about 1 tsp oil to pan and use a paper towel to spread over entire pan.

Spread half of mixture in bottom of prepared pan.
Add both cans of cherry pie filling, spreading evenly.
Then top with remaining dough, spreading evenly over cherry pie filling as best as possible.
Bake for 45 minutes or until top is slightly golden brown.
Allow to cool for 15 minutes. Cut into squares and enjoy!
How to store Cherry Squares
Cherry squares are best if stored in refrigerator as they will last longer. They can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for about 2-3 days, but they will begin to get a bit soggy beyond that.
Conclusion
There is no doubt these are one of our family’s favorite desserts. Moist, flavorful dessert that presents like you slaved over it! For the extract, as stated above, you can use almond or vanilla extract. I usually use almond extract as it blends so well with the cherry flavor. But I also use vanilla at times and taste great also! Hope you enjoy these as much as we do!
