There’s nothing better than a cool treat on a hot day, and that includes our furry friends! These 3-ingredient frozen dog treats are a staple in our freezer, especially for our Great Dane, Magnus. They’re creamy, cold, and irresistibly delicious – your dog will absolutely love them!

Made with simple, dog-safe ingredients like plain Greek yogurt, banana, and peanut butter, these homemade frozen dog treats are not only healthy but super easy to make. They take just minutes to prep and are perfect for summer (or anytime your pup deserves a cool reward).

Ingredients for Frozen Dog Treats

Three clear bowls containing creamy peanut butter, mashed banana, and greek yogurt.
  • Greek Yogurt – Use plain, unsweetened, full-fat yogurt for the best texture and taste.
  • Banana – One ripe large banana, mashed.
  • Creamy Peanut Butter – Choose a variety with no added sugar and absolutely no xylitol, which is toxic to dogs.

Equipment Needed

  • Silicone Mold or Ice Cube Tray – I recommend using silicone molds for easy removal. For large or extra-large dogs like Magnus, this XL silicone mold is a great option and one that I use.
  • Mixing Bowl
  • Handheld Mixer or Spatula

Pro Tip: Silicone molds or ice cube trays make it easy to pop the frozen treats out.

How to Make Frozen Dog Treats

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the Greek yogurt, mashed banana, and peanut butter.
  2. Use a hand mixer or spatula to blend until smooth and creamy.
  3. Spoon the mixture into your silicone molds or ice cube trays.
  4. Freeze flat for at least 4 hours, or until fully set.
  5. Once frozen, pop the treats out and store them in an airtight freezer bag or container.
  6. Serve to your pup and enjoy those tail wags!

Yield: this recipe makes 14 treats using the x-large silicone mold. For smaller size molds the yield will be more.

Tip: Silicone molds bend very easy, which can make keeping them flat in the freezer with other items a problem. Lay the mold on a baking sheet and store in the freezer to keep the mold flat and stable.
