Homemade Dog Food Recipe

When you have two gigantic dogs, buying dog food can get expensive. On average, we go through about 50lbs. of bagged dog food and 10-15lbs. of meat per week for them. So it can get pricey. That’s why I love this Quick Homemade Instant Pot Beef Dog Food recipe as it’s is easier on the pocket!

As our larger, older Dane Zeus, has aged he began to experience some digestive issues. So we were on a mission to figure out what we could do differently. A friend of mine told me about how she would make homemade food for her dogs and they loved it. After making some tweaks and adjustments, this recipe has been the best. Clean bowls every time and no more digestive issues for Zeus!

The great thing about making dog food – no stress prep – I guarantee that your dog will not care if the potatoes or carrots are not cut perfectly!

Add the fact that it’s ready in about 45 minutes using an Instant Pot start to finish – it’s a win win!

While we have not eliminated store-bought kibbles completely, we have decreased the amount we use in half. Fifty pounds of dog food now lasts us 2-3 weeks versus one. And our big boys love it!

I will be posting other versions to mix it up here soon
