Homemade Instant Pot Dog Food with Chicken

I’ve said this in a prior post, but making our own dog food is so easy and highly nutritious. Our dogs love this Homemade Instant Pot Dog Food with Chicken in particular as it’s full of flavor. What’s great is, if your beloved pooch doesn’t like/or can’t have any of the ingredients, you simply omit.

Ingredients

Chicken Breast, 2-3 boneless
Carrots
Sweet Potato
Spinach
Brown Rice
Peas

Quick Tips

I like to prep the carrots and sweet potato ahead to save on time. We make this every 3 days, because we have larger than your average dog so our instant pot is going a few times a week. To keep the prepped veggies, just store in the refrigerator in a container with enough water to cover for up to 3 days.

Can you freeze it

Yes! You can make this in batches and freeze. Will keep up to 3 months in the freezer.

I’ve written this in other posts, our largest Dane Zeus, would often loose his breakfast or dinner. It would amaze us as it could be hours later and he would throw up almost his whole meal undigested. But it was heavy with kibbles. We would change brands and he would be “ok” for a few weeks and then it would randomly start again. We ruled out anything medical that could be going on with his vet. So we checked with our vet and started making our dog food. We’ve cut back on the purchased kibbles by half and mix in our Homemade Dog Food. Since doing that, Zeus has not had any further episodes. And we’ve been making our own food for over a year now! Can’t go wrong when you know exactly what they are eating.
