Bread Machine Herbed Pizza Dough

There really is nothing like homemade pizza dough. Adding the garlic and herbs to this basic dough recipe makes a more robust and flavorful pizza.

This simple recipe is made even easier with a bread machine. Just add the ingredients, turn the machine on and let it do it’s thing!

For this particular recipe I use regular flour. However, bread flour can also be used and is probably better. But if your like me, I don’t always have bread flour on hand. I’ve used both and honestly don’t really notice a difference.

Gather all of the ingredients

Add ingredients in the order listed. Wet ingredients first, then dry. However, if your bread machine instructs follow those instructions.

Set your bread machine to dough cycle. For mine I use the leaven dough cycle which allows it to knead and rise, about 1.5 hour cycle.

Once bread machine cycle ends. Let dough rise in the machine about 30 more minutes. Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.

Once dough has risen to your liking, remove dough and place on a floured surface. If you like your pizza crust thick, then rollout and and place on an oiled pizza pan. Add desired toppings

If you like your pizza crust on the thinner side like we do, then cut the dough in half and roll out each one.

Add toppings of your choice.

Back when my daughter was little, she discovered that chopping kale super fine and adding to the end of the pizza made a beautiful ring (and it also meant that she didn’t have to eat her greens that night). It’s now a traditional for us to make a least one pizza with a ring of chopped kale around it. Makes it colorful, fun and healthy!

Bake in preheated oven 12- 15 minutes. Enjoy!

    or according to bread machine directions
  • Select dough cycle – on mine it is leaven dough cycle
  • Once done, let rise in bread machine approx. 30 minutes.
  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Spray oil 1-2 pizza pans
  • For thicker dough: Roll dough out, place on pizza pan, and add desired toppings
  • For thinner dough: divide dough in half. Roll each out half, place on pizza pans and add desired toppings
  • Bake in preheated oven for 12-15 minutes.
