There is nothing better than homemade pizza. In this Bread Machine Beer Pizza Dough recipe, it substitutes beer for water which makes for a nice rich flavor with the perfect texture. I use my bread machine on the dough cycle. Its’s so easy! Just put everything in the bread machine, while the bread machine it’s does it’s thing, you’ll have plenty of time to prep your toppings.

Ingredients for recipe- rapid rise yeast, cup of beer, butter, clear glass with salt in it, containers of sugar and flour

Ingredients for Bread Machine Beer Pizza Dough:

  • Beer – I use whatever we have on hand. Most of the time it’s a lager.
  • Butter – softened or slightly melted
  • Sugar
  • Salt
  • Flour – I personally use regular white flour as I don’t always have bread flour on hand. But if you do then use it!
  • Active dry yeast

Special equipment

Bread machine – I’ve said it in prior posts, I LOVE my bread machine!!! I use it almost weekly. I particularly love it for pizza dough, as you can just throw dough ingredients in the machine and let it work it’s magic while I prep my toppings

Will my pizza dough taste like beer?

No, the beer will give a nice rich flavor.

What goes best on top

Everything! You can create wonderful flavors with a variety of sauces, veggies, cheeses and proteins.

Sauces: pizza sauce, spaghetti sauce, Alfredo sauce, Cashew Sauce, or Pesto!

Try these sauces: Roasted Garlic Sauce; Fresh Homemade Pesto

Cheese: Mozzarella shredded or sliced, parmesan, cheddar, goat cheese (goes well with pesto sauce), gorgonzola, provolone, feta, Percorino-Romano…..

Toppings: fresh vegetables spinach, sliced onions, peppers, mushrooms, garlic, broccoli, shredded carrots, chopped kale, artichokes, or fresh pineapple to name a most common ones. You can sauté your veggies ahead of time also. I like to sauté my onions, mushrooms and spinach before hand. I also roast asparagus for a topping.

Protein: you can add any protein that you like! We usually use vegan sausage and pepperoni. And for the carnivores in the house, we cook up sausage, Hamburg, chicken, or add pepperoni.
